Rep. John Larson has introduced HR 1155: new articles of impeachment against Donald Trump.
Trump's high crimes and misdemeanours are now too numerous to list in a letter such as this.
It should be enough to say that you along with all members of Congress and the president have solemnly sworn to uphold the constitution and defend it. The president is also sworn to see to the fair execution of the laws. Trump's violations of US laws, the US Constitution, US court orders and international law now occur every day. His erratic and unhinged illegal threats, rantings, and divisive posts make him an ever present danger to our civil order.
His approval is at an all-time low.
Even if you think the Senate will not remove Trump, your duty to the constitution requires you to vote for these articles.
Defending the constitution is not a partisan issue nor is it a tactical issue. Democracies die when their constitutions become a dead letter.
Please urge Rep Larson to use title IX to bring his bill for a vote.
Please vote for it.
It's time to support the constitution by impeaching a president who defies and undermines it.
