We now know that it was aging thermal generators—gas and coal—that were chiefly responsible for the ERCOT June power rationing. Yet, Abbott and Patrick continue to attack wind and solar rather than working to get reliable energy for Texans. Building new power plants is a monumental expense that takes years before the first watt is produced. Solar and wind can be built in phases and each phase starts generating power much sooner than a giant power plant.
