Vote no on H.R. 32, protect immigrant communities

13 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

Sanctuary policies build trust between immigrant communities and law enforcement, making cities safer by encouraging cooperation and reporting of crimes. H.R. 32 would recklessly strip vital federal funding for essential public services like school meals, public transit, disaster relief, and public health programs from cities and states that refuse to act as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deputies. This overreaching legislation ignores the 10th Amendment which protects states and localities from being forced to carry out federal policies. Courts have repeatedly ruled that the federal government cannot coerce states in this manner. Stripping funding over local immigration policies is cruel and legally dubious. I urge you to vote no on H.R. 32 to protect immigrant communities, local decision-making authority, and critical services that millions of American families rely on.
