Stop Dragging Your Feet on the Pentagon’s Toxic PFAS Mess How much longer are military families and surrounding communities expected to swallow poisoned water while the Pentagon plays administrative shell games? Recent reports confirm that the Department of Defense, under Secretary Pete Hegseth, has quietly delayed cleanup schedules for toxic PFAS "forever chemicals" across hundreds of military installations. Remediation deadlines have been pushed back by years—and in some cases, decades—or quietly wiped from public timetables altogether. PFAS exposure is directly linked to kidney cancer, testicular cancer, thyroid dysfunction, and birth defects. While our communities face real, deadly health hazards from military firefighting foams, the Pentagon treats environmental remediation like an optional footnote. This total disregard for human life is utterly unacceptable. Reject bureaucratic shields and foot-dragging. Exercise immediate congressional oversight, haul Secretary Hegseth into hearings, and legally compel the Pentagon to restore and enforce aggressive cleanup deadlines.
