Oppose Kash Patel as FBI Director

I am writing to express my strong opposition to the confirmation of Kash Patel as FBI Director. The FBI requires leadership with integrity, impartiality, and law enforcement expertise—criteria Mr. Patel does not meet. Below are five key reasons for my opposition. 1. Lack of Law Enforcement Experience Mr. Patel has no substantial law enforcement background. His experience as a political aide does not equip him to lead the FBI’s critical operations, including counterterrorism and national security. 2. Politicization of Intelligence Mr. Patel has a history of politicizing intelligence. His role in promoting discredited conspiracy theories about Russian interference undermines the FBI’s apolitical mission. 3. Allegiance to Political Figures Over Institutions The FBI Director must prioritize institutional integrity over personal loyalties. Mr. Patel’s close association with Donald Trump raises concerns about his ability to maintain impartiality. 4. Mishandling Classified Information Mr. Patel’s actions regarding the declassification of sensitive materials for political purposes demonstrate poor judgment, threatening national security. 5. Risk to FBI Morale and Credibility A divisive appointment like Mr. Patel’s would demoralize FBI staff and erode public trust in the agency’s independence. For these reasons, I urge you to oppose Mr. Patel’s confirmation. Our nation needs a qualified, impartial leader for the FBI.
