Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to oppose Casey Means's nomination as Surgeon General. She’s unqualified and holds extreme views that will endanger public health.
She’s a vocal opponent of abortion rights, and she cannot be trusted to uphold reproductive freedoms or provide unbiased medical guidance.
Means is also a climate change denialist, which also disqualifies her from leading policies to address growing health risks from environmental crises.
Furthermore, her alignment with the Trump administration's dangerous response to COVID-19 raises grave concerns about her ability to handle future pandemics effectively and follow scientific consensus.
For the wellbeing of all Americans, we cannot have an ideologue unwilling to put evidence-based practices first as our nation's top physician.
While I agree that further investigation is needed into children’s health and nutrition at schools, and tying corporations and health issues from chemicals and food additives may be excellent places to regulate, she’s not the one to lead such efforts for all of the reasons listed above.
She simply won’t serve the public, and I strongly believe she’s a self-promoter that’s looking to get rich on the side selling her nonsense cures and supplements while in office.
Nominating Means undermines the whole offices’ credibility and continues putting politics over people's lives. Vote NO on Casey Means. Thank you.
