An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Prevent spoilage of 60,000 tons of critical food aid

49 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers!

The warehoused food aid stockpiles from USAID are risking expiration and becoming unusable due to disruptions from aid program cuts and personnel dismissals. Over 60,000 metric tons of critical food supplies intended to alleviate global hunger are stuck, including nutritional products that could feed millions of malnourished children. This jeopardizes humanitarian efforts in regions facing acute food insecurity and famine conditions. I urge you to act swiftly to approve the distribution proposal and facilitate the handover of these inventories to aid organizations before they spoil. Addressing this urgently can help prevent further loss of life and hunger crises from escalating. The lives of vulnerable populations depend on mobilizing these resources without further delay.
