An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Join Your Constituents at Nationwide Rallies: NO KINGS!

140 so far! Let’s get to 250 signers!

I’m writing to remind you that this Saturday, March 28th is the next NO KINGS protest. I’m urging you to show up at the protests and speak forcefully in favor of the No Kings Theme this weekend. I also urge you to co-sponsor and actively work to pass the proposed "No Kings" amendment introduced by Representative Morelle and Senator Hirono. The Supreme Court's disastrous decision in Trump v. United States poses a grave threat to our democracy by granting presidents immunity from criminal prosecution for any "official" act, no matter how corrupt or catastrophic. This ruling essentially grants presidents the powers of absolute monarchs, running directly counter to the founding principle that no one is above the law. A constitutional amendment is urgently needed to overturn this travesty and restore the vital system of checks and balances on presidential power. The No Kings amendment would counter the current situation: that no future president can abuse their position with impunity, shielded from criminal accountability. Allowing any president to operate with complete criminal immunity is antithetical to democratic governance and the rule of law. It invites unchecked corruption, abuse of power, and even violent authoritarian overreach, as Justice Sotomayor warned in her dissent. This ruling essentially grants presidents the powers of absolute monarchs, running directly counter to the founding principle that no one is above the law. A constitutional amendment is urgently needed to overturn this travesty and restore the vital system of checks and balances on presidential power. We cannot accept a United States where the president reigns as an unaccountable monarch. Show up. Join your constituents on March 28th, and make it loud and clear that we want NO KINGS.
