With premiums set to increase and tariffs increasing the cost of medical supplies, drugs, and equipment, allowing key provisions of the Affordable Care Act to expire will force many to delay seeking treatment until emergencies arise, pushing them to seek the most expensive care possible in emergency rooms. This unsustainable pattern will cause insurance companies to hike premiums even higher, making healthcare unaffordable for millions. Congress can stop this destructive cycle by voting to extend the ACA's subsidies and remove new barriers that will erode coverage for millions of vulnerable individuals and families.
