Senator Collins, your vote & statement were a disgrace
Senator Collins, you betrayed your oath to the constitution yesterday. You well know that the president's war is illegal-- I should say, his wars. You well know that there was a nuclear agreement with Iran which Trump tore up. You well know that that there was not an imminent threat to US lives. You also know that Kash Patel sacked Iran counterterrorism specialists recently: a monumentally stupid thing to do. Your statement justifying your vote yesterday is a shocking tissue of partisan immorality and half truths. And no, the ends do not justify the means. Let's recap: The Constitution is clear: Congress decides on war. When a president uses military force without authorization and Congress stays silent, they are abandoning their role as a co equal branch of government. War is the most serious power our government has. Shame on the U.S. Senate today. Shame on you
