Support and co-sponsor the PROOF Act. Using the tax code to silence critics and punish organizations for speaking out is an abuse of government power, and it needs to stop. No federal agency should be able to weaponize audits or tax enforcement against civil rights groups, environmental organizations, watchdogs, or charities because of their political positions. The threat of IRS targeting isn't hypothetical — it can financially cripple nonprofits that lack the resources to fight back. When organizations fear retaliation, they self-censor. That chills free speech and undermines the entire ecosystem of advocacy and accountability that a healthy democracy depends on. The PROOF Act is a direct fix to a real problem. Get behind it.
