Maintain funding for CDC's HIV Prevention Division

15 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

The CDC's HIV Prevention Division plays a vital role in mitigating the spread of HIV through comprehensive monitoring, testing, and prevention initiatives. Their efforts have contributed to a 12% decrease in new HIV infections from 2018 to 2022, marking significant progress in curbing the epidemic. Defunding or eliminating this division would undermine decades of invaluable work and jeopardize the strides made towards ending the HIV/AIDS crisis. State budgets and other federal programs lack the necessary resources and scope to adequately continue the division's essential activities nationwide. Failure to invest in HIV prevention will result in increased cases, compromising public health and straining healthcare costs. Prioritizing the HIV Prevention Division's funding is crucial to sustaining the nationwide fight against HIV transmission and ensuring continued access to life-saving prevention services.
