The SGE Ethics Enforcement & Reform (SEER) Act would rein in abuses by expanding ethics rules to cover SGEs, prohibiting SGEs with billion-dollar companies from communicating with agencies that regulate or contract with those companies, requiring resolution of a broader range of conflicts of interest, and increasing transparency around SGE appointments and financial interests. These common-sense reforms would ensure SGEs cannot exploit their temporary roles for private gain at public expense. By reining in unethical conduct and bringing SGEs under established ethics frameworks, this bill would restore accountability and safeguard the integrity of the federal government. I urge you to swiftly pass the SEER Act to prevent further misuse of the SGE loophole and protect the public interest.
