Restore Office of Government Ethics, Maintain Russia Sanctions.

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to oppose the Trump administration's recent actions to weaken government oversight and ethics enforcement. The dismissal of the Office of Government Ethics (OGE) director and replacement with a political ally, alongside the dismantling of Task Force KleptoCapture and pause on Foreign Corrupt Practices Act enforcement, are a disturbing disregard for accountability. Only criminals act in this way, and we already know our President is a criminal. As you well know, ethics watchdogs play a vital role in preventing conflicts of interest and ensuring public servants act with integrity. Removing the OGE director undermines this crucial check on corruption. Meanwhile, halting sanctions enforcement against Russian oligarchs whitewashes their illicit financial ties to the Kremlin amidst the tragic invasion of Ukraine. I urge you to take immediate action to restore the nonpartisan OGE leadership, reinstate vigorous sanctions on Russian kleptocrats, and reaffirm America's commitment to combating global corruption through the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
