Tulsi Gabbard's sympathetic views toward Russia's justifications for invading Ukraine are deeply concerning for someone being considered to lead U.S. intelligence agencies. In 2022, she endorsed Russia's false claim that Ukraine was developing bioweapons in U.S.-funded labs, parroting Kremlin disinformation. Her past secret meetings with Syria's Russian-backed president and consistent defense of Trump's cozy relationship with Putin also raise alarms. While Gabbard cites her military service, her tendency to amplify Russian propaganda threatens to undermine U.S. national security interests if she is confirmed. Her allegiance seems questionable given Russia's brutal invasion and occupation of parts of a sovereign nation. Appointing someone so deferential to the Kremlin's agenda could jeopardize intelligence sharing with allies and weaken efforts to counter Russian aggression. For the sake of upholding democratic values and standing firm against authoritarian overreach, I urge you to vote against Gabbard's nomination as Director of National Intelligence.
