Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to vote NO on the appointment of Tulsi Gabbard to head the Office of National Intelligence.
Nothing in her service has qualified her for this post. Just having a security clearance does not mean that she can effectively manage and direct the vital machinery that protects us from interference by foreign governments in every aspect of our existence as a country.
If she gets as far as the Senate hearings, please question her closely about her qualifications, as well as her questionable views on US foreign policy.
My concerns are many about such an unqualified person being easily a tool of a foreign government Her on the record comments deserve scrutiny, as well as a full background check on her finances and who she regularly communicates with outside of the United States.
In any case, there are many far more qualified leaders for this post. I doubt she would command any respect from the thousands that would work for her, and that kind of inertia will put the whole country at risk. We cannot afford to be imperfect in such a high stakes role, and she’s an unserious choice, and an imperfect and suspect nominee.
