It's Time for a LIVING Wage

It's Time for a LIVING Wage Our country is facing a severe affordability crisis, and the federal minimum wage has remained frozen at a stagnant $7.25 since 2009. The math simply no longer works. According to recent MIT data, there is nowhere in America where a full-time worker with a single dependent can afford basic necessities on less than $25 an hour. With the introduction of the Living Wage for All Act in the Senate, you have a historic opportunity to fix this. This legislation provides an ambitious yet realistic roadmap, gradually phasing in a $25 minimum wage. It responsibly gives large corporations a six-year runway to comply while granting smaller businesses a 13-year transition period. Crucially, it also protects our most vulnerable by ending outdated subminimum wages for tipped workers, youth, and workers with disabilities. Nearly half of the American workforce currently earns less than $25 an hour. Raising the wage floor is not just about fairness; it is an economic catalyst that will lift millions out of poverty, boost local commerce, and reward the productivity of American workers. I urge you to co-sponsor and vote in favor of the Living Wage for All Act.
