The boundary waters are a precious stunning legacy. We hold them in trust for the future.
The profits from tourism exceed the profits from mining.
It would be crass and evil desecration to open them up for mining which will cause forever-pollution for the short-term private profit of a Chilean mining magnate.
Do you want future generations to know that you preserved the wild places for them? Or you you want them to see ruined areas and dead fish, knowing that you okayed that?
