The House Ways and Means Committee's proposed cuts to weather forecasting research, NOAA supercomputers, and hurricane observations are alarming, especially after the devastation from extreme weather events this past year. Investing in these critical resources is essential for protecting lives and property through accurate predictions and preparedness efforts. Robust funding for meteorological infrastructure should remain a top priority to enhance our nation's resilience against the intensifying impacts of climate change. I urge you to reconsider these misguided cuts that would jeopardize public safety and undermine our ability to respond effectively to severe storms and natural disasters. Maintaining comprehensive forecasting capabilities is a matter of national importance. NOT TO MENTION THAT THIS IS INTENDED TO CONTROL INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC.
