Congress needs to ban surveillance pricing and pass comprehensive digital privacy protections for Americans. Retailers are harvesting data on our race, gender, employment, and browsing history to charge us different prices for the same goods. That's not a market. That's a system designed to extract the most money from people who can least afford it.
This is the logical endpoint of years of unchecked data collection. Every search, every click, every purchase has been quietly monetized and turned against us at the checkout. Americans are sick of having the most intimate details of their lives bought and sold without their knowledge or consent. The tools exist to stop this, and Congress must correct this now.
