Congress must act immediately to stop the Trump administration and OMB from unilaterally rescinding appropriated funds. The Constitution is unambiguous: the power of the purse belongs exclusively to Congress. When the executive branch decides on its own which programs get funded and at what levels, it isn't streamlining government — it's seizing legislative authority that was never theirs to take.
Every dollar Congress appropriates represents a deliberate policy choice made by elected representatives. When OMB freezes or redirects those funds, it nullifies that choice without a vote, without debate, and without accountability to the public. That is not how this republic works. You have both the authority and the obligation to demand that every appropriated dollar reaches the programs Congress legislated support for. Enforce the law. Reclaim the power the Constitution gave you.
