Protect Afghan Allies - Uphold U.S. Commitments and Security
Terminating Temporary Protected Status for Afghan refugees is unacceptable and detrimental to our nation's future military operations abroad. This action undermines the trust and cooperation of allies who provided invaluable assistance to American forces during the Afghanistan war. Deporting those who risked their lives to support our efforts sends a disastrous message that the United States abandons its commitments and partners. Afghan evacuees deserve to be granted special immigrant visas and protected status, not forced to return to a volatile situation. Congress must uphold American values and national security interests by safeguarding the rights of these Afghan refugees who stood by our troops. Fulfilling our moral obligation to allies is critical for preserving credibility and securing future operational success.
