Investigate Boeing MAX non-prosecution agreement impartially

31 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers!

The decision to drop criminal charges against Boeing for the tragic 737 MAX crashes that killed 346 people is deeply concerning. This lenient non-prosecution agreement fails to hold the company fully accountable and sends a troubling message about protecting corporate interests over public safety. The evidence of fraud and deception by Boeing employees to mislead regulators is well-documented. By avoiding criminal prosecution, there is a risk that safety practices may not improve substantially, jeopardizing confidence in air travel. Congress has an obligation to exercise rigorous oversight and scrutinize the Department of Justice's handling of this case. Were undue political influences or conflicts of interest factors in this controversial agreement? The public deserves transparency and assurance that justice was served impartially. Furthermore, any potential violations of ethics rules or the Emoluments Clause by former President Trump and administration officials relating to Boeing contracts and gifts must be thoroughly investigated. Allegations of corruption that enabled corporate wrongdoing to go largely unpunished cannot be ignored. Robust accountability measures are imperative to prevent such reckless behavior from reoccurring and safeguard public trust in government and aviation safety standards.
