Demand that the SEC immediately investigate Trump Media & Technology Group's "Truth API" service and support legislation to shut it down. For up to $100,000 a month, trading firms get early access to President Trump's Truth Social posts before the public sees them. These posts routinely move markets. This is the president monetizing official policy announcements through his own company, enriching himself and institutional investors at the direct expense of ordinary Americans on the other side of those trades.
The service appears to violate federal securities law and the 2012 Stock Act, which bars executive branch officials from trading on privileged information. This disadvantages regular investors who will be on the losing sides of those trades. The SEC's own mission is to protect investors and maintain fair, orderly markets. That mission is being openly mocked. Congress needs to act with urgency and pass binding legislation to end this scheme before it becomes the new normal.
