An open letter to the U.S. Senate (ME only)

NO FUNDS FOR ROGUE agency DHS or ICE. SHUT THEM DOWN.

1 so far! Let’s get to 5 signers!

THANK YOU Senator Collins for speaking to ask for limits on ICE activity in Maine. I call on you to fully honor your oath to the constitution and your duty to your constituents whom you should be honoured to serve. A temporary limited cut back of ICE in Maine is NOT enough. ICE is a rogue agency. Breaking laws and trampling on our rights, murdering citizens and detaining them in illegal conditions. Spreading fear. ICE is doing things that would be illegal for soldiers to do to civilians in wartime. ICE and DHS are also CORRUPT and MISUSING FUNDS with NO ACCOUNTABILITY. A conservative estimate of the annual budget of ICE gives it more resources than the armies of nations like Italy, Israel, and Brazil. ICE’s annual budget is about 50% of the UK’s military budget—which has the world’s sixth largest army. It s As Appropriations chair you have FAILED TO DO ADEQUATE TIMELY OVERSIGHT. I'm calling on you now to investigate Kristi Noem's purchase of two private jets and her choice to give huge contracts for ads to personal pals without going through correct procedures. ICE has lost its legitimacy. A band-aid fix to help Maine out a little bit without serving the nation would be an insult to decency and financial and ethical duty. DEFUND the DHS. SHUT the Government down. NO TALK OF MORE FUNDS FOR ICE. DO YOUR JOB. Remember Margaret Chase Smith. DO NOT FUND ILLEGAL CORRUPT federal overreach for corrupt agencies. I AM APPALLED THAT YOU WANTED TO APPROPRIATE MORE FUNDS FOR AN AGENCY THAT IS BREAKING THE LAW, EXECUTING PEOPLE IN THE STREETS AND MISUSING ITS CURRENT FUNDS WITH ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY.
