Removing critical protections for endangered species and opening up millions of acres of pristine forestland to aggressive deforestation is unjustified and harmful. Mature forests play a vital role in mitigating climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide. Cutting them down exacerbates global warming and destroys precious habitats for vulnerable plants and animals.
