President Biden’s action to protect 625 million acres of U.S. coastline from new oil and gas drilling was the right decision. This move will benefit coastal communities, crucial industries like tourism and fishing, and endangered species and vulnerable environments. It is also a necessary part of addressing the threat of climate change. While the oligarchs have immediately called for this decision to be reversed, it may require congressional approval to do so. I urge you to stand with the people of the coasts and oppose any effort to roll back these protections.
