why have you been putting Trump and GOP illegal policy before the constitution?

Dear Senator Collins, Our democracy is under assault by a would be dictator and his contempt for the law. I'm concerned and disappointed by your ineffective response, putting party fealty before your oath to the constitution. It's been reported that ever since the Dobbs decision undermining Roe, you have been absent from all committee meetings where access to abortion care was on the agenda. You had promised to protect Roe. What happened? Did you learn a lesson? We have also seen that you failed to use your role as approps chair to put a check on Doge illegal cuts and Trump's illegal impoundments. Why? Please reply in writing to let me know what has changed since August 2016 when you famously wrote an op ed declaring Trump unsuitable to be president. What has he done since then to earn your assent to most of his cabinet and judicial appointees (even when they were manifestly unqualified or had previous careers lobbying or wrecking the areas they are supposed to steward). What changed? Why are you enabling this?
