Protect Social Security: Stop Cuts, Closures, and Privatization

15 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

Social Security is under attack, and I urge you to take immediate action to protect this vital program. Recent budget cuts, office closures, and privatization schemes threaten the economic stability of millions of Americans who rely on Social Security as a lifeline. The Trump administration's deliberate efforts to undermine Social Security through office closures and staffing reductions have already had devastating consequences. These actions have made it increasingly difficult for beneficiaries to access the support they need and deserve. We must reverse this trend by stopping further office closures, restoring staffing levels, and modernizing the program's technology infrastructure. Privatization of Social Security would be a catastrophic mistake, potentially leading to a crisis reminiscent of the Great Depression. The program's success in reducing poverty, particularly among seniors, is well-documented. Social Security lifts 22 million Americans out of poverty each year, including 15 million seniors. Privatizing this crucial safety net would put these vulnerable populations at risk and jeopardize the financial security of future generations. As your constituent, I implore you to take a strong stance against any attempts to privatize Social Security or further reduce its funding. Instead, I ask that you support legislation that will: 1. Halt all Social Security office closures and reopen essential field offices 2. Increase funding to restore adequate staffing levels and improve customer service 3. Invest in modernizing Social Security's technology infrastructure 4. Safeguard the program against political interference and privatization efforts The future of Social Security as a public benefit must be secured. Millions of Americans are counting on your leadership to protect this cornerstone of our nation's economic stability. Please act now to ensure that Social Security remains a robust and accessible program for current and future generations.
